One hot afternoon, a little monkey was playing on the branches of a tall tree near a river. He swung from one branch to another, enjoying the cool breeze. But as he reached for a weak branch, it suddenly snapped! The monkey lost his grip and fell straight into the rushing river below.
The poor monkey panicked as the strong current carried him away. He flailed his tiny arms, trying to stay afloat, but the water was too powerful. His heart pounded with fear as he struggled to keep his head above the waves.
On the riverbank, a kind elephant named Raju was drinking water. He saw the monkey splashing helplessly and knew he had to act fast. Without wasting a moment, Raju waded into the river, using his strong trunk to reach out.
"Grab on!" Raju called out.
The little monkey, exhausted and frightened, stretched out his tiny arms and clung to Raju’s trunk. The elephant gently lifted him out of the water and placed him safely on the shore. The monkey coughed and shivered, but he was safe at last.
"Be careful next time," Raju said kindly.
Tears of gratitude filled the monkey’s eyes. "Thank you, Raju! You saved my life!"
The other animals of the forest gathered around, cheering for the brave elephant. From that day on, the little monkey was extra careful when playing near the river. And he never forgot the kindness of his friend, Raju, who had rescued him from the rushing waters.
This story teaches us that true friends help each other in times of need, no matter how big or small they are.
